This diet does not work! For 6 weeks I have followed it completely and lost 2 lbs in the 1st week, gained one lb in the 2nd week and lost the 2nd lb again in the 4th week. I am so frustrated!! Anyone else experience the same results???

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMary Kay

I started 10 weeks ago. I have lost only 12 lbs., BUT... I have gone from an XL shirt size to a Large, had to shorten all my belts, and started at a 38 waist size on my pants and... Drum Roll Please... I just bought a 34 the other day!! Albeit the 34 is still a little tight, but I know it will be loose in no time. I have never been more thrilled with a 'diet' in my life. Of course, 'diet' is in quotes, as I have almost never felt I am on a diet. I almost eat what I want, when I want, and that is soooo important. What good is the greatest of anything if it can't be followed. The Belly Fat Cure can be followed, bottom line. I have never ate healthier, and never felt better in my life since I rid my body of the massive amounts of sugar that I was eating before. Thank You Jorge. My wife is losing too. Not as much as me, but she's encouraged. She actually told me she sees weight loss and inches lost as just a bonus to this 'diet'. The fact that we are both eating healthier and feeling so much better is enough right there! -Joel

I wasn't sure, and wanted so much for the diet to work - and it does! It's pretty rigid, and not the healthiest, but I want to lose a total of ten pounds and I lost five the first week. I'm really hoping my progress doesn't slow up. Once I get the ten off I'll go back to a low-fat, lots of fruits and veggies
way of eating - and keep away from the sugar and carbs! Thank you Jorge!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTimber

Low fat is a really bad idea!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterluc

Bananas and yogurt are good for you. Fruit may be high in sugar, but fruit is good for you.
Moderation is the key. Eat 3 healthy meals with 2-3 healthy snacks in between. Lean meats, fruits, veggies. Stay away from fatty and sugary deserts. Skim milk is great. It has no fat and high protein.

Jorge's diet is good for for the short term. It's a good quick start, but I wouldn't stay on it for more than 1-2 weeks tops.

Make better choices with the food you eat and exercise.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterNicky fron New York

I lost 20 pounds in 8 weeks on this diet. I have kept it all off and have added some fruits. It is really easy to leave the sugars alone and I now know what I can eat and not gain the weight back. It is easy and makes you feel so good about yourself that you want to continue to stay that way. I have dropped 2 sizes and feel better than I have in ten years!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLinda

Yes, I think I am missing something... I have not lost weight but feel great and sleep well. But I would love to know what I must be doing wrong. :) If I eat a smaller portion that what is on the label... Don't I divide to get the actual sugar and / or carbs?

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterConni

This is the best plan ever. I have been on it for three months, and it has worked miracles on my body. It is healthy, and I am vegan doing it. My vegan diet before this plan sure as heck did not work, and that diet was mostly all fruits and vegetables. The bananas in all of those green smoothies that I was drinking kept me fat. The pounds are falling off now. I'm loving it!!!!!!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered Commentermargo

I have been on this diet for 4-5 weeks and lost 4lbs the first week and stayed the same weight for the last few weeks now, I havent lost any more after the first week. I am frustrated and am going to try the weight watcher program where i can eat fruits and yogurts and things i like.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterPatty

Don't know what I am doing wrong! I have to admit, I feel great and in control but no weight loss. I am even exercising, cardio, but not to the point where I am building muscle... I am a 53 year old woman and know that it is harder to lose weight but this is crazy. I stay under 120 carbs and 15g of sugar, don't know what else I can do, giving up isn't the answer either...

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMary Kay

Mary Kay, I am right there with ya...I could have written that paragraph! Giving up is not the answer as I am feeling so much better...my doctor's apptmt this morning showed my Triglycerides cut in half! Cholesterol went up (will cut back on the eggs) and A1C stayed the same, but I've only been on it for 4 weeks, so expect my A1C to be in normal range at next apptmt (3 months). My doctor said to keep doing what I've been doing, just cut back on the eggs (no more than 4 a week), keep walking/exercising, and it will come off. Every person is different. A small encouragement, but enough to keep me motivated. I don't have any answers, but as long as you are feeling better and "in control" I say keep it up! Good luck to you :)

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSusan

I have been doing the BFC for a little over 2 weeks now. I am a 39 year old female and have had slow weight loss over the last few years. I have lost 9lbs (I have about 30lbs to lose)in a little over 2 weeks and feel better than I have in a long time. This is a way of eating not a "diet" and those who criticize the healthiness of this diet have obviously not read the book as Jorge promotes healthy, natural eating that can absolutely include fruit, and etc. in moderation. I am never hungry and do not feel deprived in any way! I am so grateful to have found this easy to follow system. My whole family is eating this way whether they want to slim down or not and we all feel great!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJeanne

The diet is not 120 carbs, thats the key, its 6 servings of carbs, if you eat something that has 20 carbs, that is one serving, now you have 5 servings left, not 100 carbs, just a suggestion. And you must drink the water 8-10 / 8oz glasses a day, and no artificial sugar, none, no blue, no pink, no yellow, look at the foods you are eating if there is 0 sugar 0 carbs and contains high fructose or aspartame, or sucralose, or saccharin, its belly bad. Stay solid in that for the next 7 days and you will lose weight. Hang on , because if you follow it, it will work. I stopped smoking 18 months ago and a year ago started to exercise to get the weight off that I gained. In that year i lost a total of 5 lbs :(, super frustrating. I have been on this for two weeks and I am down 6 lbs, and my husband is down 11. Stick with it, it is a healthy way to eat, and if you are trying it without the book, you are cheating yourself. The book is extremely educational and is motivating me to stick with it.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered Commentercolleen

I have the book and I used the 120 carbs loosely, I never exceed 20 carbs per serving and no more than 6 servings, usually less because I am nor hungry. Watch the sugar too... Anyway, will keep trying. Thanks for all the encouragement!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMary Kay

The first week on the diet I lost 7#, the second week I fell off the wagon and regained 3#, the third week I stayed with those same 3# and tried to get back on the wagon, the fourth week I did a better job of staying on the wagon and lost those 3# plus 1# more. I guess what I'm saying is that you get out of it what you put into it. I switched to the ultimate last week and I'm still unable to eat 3 meals plus 2 snacks a day (I'm averaging 2 meals & 1 snack a day). I'm finding that I'm staying away from as much of the beet/cane sugars and chemical sugars, if I find food with any of those ingredients I forgo them. My mother (82 years) has become encouraged by what I'm trying to do and she is also slowly reducing the sugars and carbs, she wants to get into her wedding dress from 64.5 years ago for something at the church in May. Coca Cola was the hardest worst habit I had to kick, but now I'm coke free! I wish I would've known all about this belly fat cure years ago....Thanks Jorge for bringing it to light!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDarla

I too have not had success with this program. I did the 12-week program ($400) and am now doing this 6-week program (recipes only - $100). Now $500 and 17 wks. later (with one more wk. to go), I am still yo-yo-ing with same measly 6 lbs. I was yo-yo-ing with for months on my own before I started any of these programs and paid all this $$$! Several days I've even eaten only 2 of the 3 scheduled meals because I'm not hungry. According to Jorge the weight should be falling off and the minimum I should have lost by now is 68 lbs. - I would be happy with 50 lbs. - HECK I would be happy with 30 lbs. at this point! Although I believe cutting sugar & carbs is a healthy way of eating, this program doesn't work for those who weren't big sugar & carb abusers to begin with. I'm sure anyone who has had success on Jorge's programs was a big soda drinker, dessert & sweets eater, and white flour consumer. (I'm not.) Anyone who cuts those things out of their diet will probably lose a lot of weight initially without even being on any "program". Even though I am totally disappointed, I continue with the program/way of living - it's not that different from how I was eating/living before I started the program - I'm just more conscious of looking for hidden sugars. I just wish I hadn't wasted all the $$$ - Jorge's money-back guarantee is a joke! It's only good until 4 days into the program - who can tell anything after only 4 days?! I've also noticed Jorge never responds to those of us who haven't had success. ???? This is obviously a big, big money-maker program for him and if it's truly more than just the money for him, he should stand behind it and make his guarantee good through at least the half-way point. I had such high hopes - what a big disappointment!!!!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterdsl

I am confused, I know the basics of the program but haven't spent any money -- what are you spending money on? ($400?)

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

For some of you that are not losing weight or inches and say that they are eating only 2 meals and 1 snack...please do not criticize the BFC program as you are not following it. It is 3 meals and 2 snack each day and that is to regulate the blood sugar from lows and highs!
I can't do exercise due to back surgeries and in 7 weeks I have lost 2 inches off my belly and 15 pounds! I do not feel hungry at all. Also please note the snacks are between the meals and not in the evening. I hope this helps....on my way to get some new clothes!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLIsa

I am not sure why I am seeing so many negative comments about this plan. I lost 15 pounds the first week alone. But I am strictly following Jorge's plan by his book, The Belly Fat Cure. I am seeing amazing results and I hope that it keeps going.

Thank you Jorge!!!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRuzobuzo

I have not followed the program to the letter and I haven't lost a lot of weight. But what the scale doesn't tell me the tape measure does. I have lost 6 inches off the belly and only about 6 lbs. I'm happy with that.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterVivian

I have seen in the BFC that it can work .. My mom and i are on it and have been since the first week of februaury .. to date i have lost 28lbs.. my mom only a few.. and she has stuck to the "plan" way better than i have !! I wasnt a big carb lover and hate sweets !!! HOWEVER i also was not eating .. i ate 1 meal a day .. i now make myself eat 3 meals a day .. super small portions... and i dont do the snacks .. its too much food for me personally. I would suggest a few things to some who arent having much luck... KEEP trying.. DONT stress about little details .. and LISTEN to your body !! once you get to feeling better if you wanna splurge do it in moderation .. i had bday cake with my 11yr old and didnt stress .. i just went back to whats good for me the next day !! it works for me .. not so much for my mom .. but she is feeling better and will eventually get there !! GOOD LUCK TO ALL !!!

Well, in the first 4 weeks I lost 9 pounds and oddly gained 2 this mornnig.
I am with you Darla, that it is a lot of money, 98 dollars for the menues. Is the book the same as these? If it is, I would feel ripped off :)

I feel better, my acid reflux has pretty much subsided, maybe because I don't eat any sugar anymore. But what bothers me is the no fruit or soup idea. And no joghurt....
I am kind of mixing and matching the menues, as I can not cook for lunch - dog groomer, lots of hair everywhere :) so I eat, a slice of Ezekiel bread and turkey or Roastbeef or something.
Albeit expensive, I think it is doing me a lot of good and I will sort of keep up with it and maybe repeat it one more time on my own.... what am I saying, I am on my own, except for the great people on facebook who have proved to be a cornucopia of information.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDiana

First of all, I would like to say that most weight-loss programs are "money-makers." Let's face it....Jorge is no different in that he has to make a living as well. Secondly, after being on various programs throughout my lifetime, there is no perfect "one-size fits all" no "magic cure" for weight loss.

I am following Jorge's information, but I'm adapting it to my lifestyle and for what I need. I have type II diabetes which is not being controlled very well by medication and my doctor keeps adding more and more. I have over 100 pounds to lose and most of it is "belly-fat." What I have taken away from Jorge's books and information is that for those of us with "belly-fat" it's the carbs and sugars that can be the worst for us. Since I have been following Jorge's program, I have lost inches around my belly. How much weight have I lost? I don't know as I don't weigh myself....because at this point I have so much to lose, that I don't want to be emotionally tied to my scale. But I also know that I'm not as tired, I have more energy, and I'm now able to do some exercises as well. Slowly my blood sugars are starting to not have such spikes to them, but more leveling out, even though they are still high. Little by little, I'm gaining control over my life. So please....for those of you who give up, that's certainly your choice, no diet program is perfect and understand, that while it may not be working for you, the information and the philosophy behind it to me is good.

I still think one has to also be aware of the calories you're taking in as well. Yes, you can have fats, but just not lots and lots. Even fruits....I still have my fruit, but I usually try to find those lowest in sugars and then only eat a small amount....to stay within the 15 g. of sugar/day. And...for those of us (me included) who have been yo-yo dieters most of our lives, lets face it.... after awhile our bodies are going to just say "Oh no, not this again....another diet??? I don't think so and try to store up that fat and not let it go".

I hope those of you who are feeling frustrated, especially those like me with lots of weight to lose or have Type II diabetes...don't let the pounds be your determining factor in this program. How you're feeling should be the key and your BS levels.

On a side note....my husband and I are also learning to look at foods differently. After watching the movie "Food, Inc.", I have a total appreciation of what "real food" means. The one thing I walked away from with this movie is what you rather spend your money on....good healthy food or medications you'll need down the road for blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes from all the processed foods we consume. So now I no longer wince when I pay more for fresh fruits and vegetables and meats that are from the farmer's market, etc as I keep hoping our monthly medication bill will go down. I hope Jorge won't mind me promoting the movie....but one should watch" Food, Inc." as it's a nice fit to getting healthy just like Jorge's plan is a great program for those with Belly Fat to lose. It really has changed how I look at what I eat and what my family eats.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLynnette

I agree...I am associated with 4 groups and it is awesome. When you are down they lift you up and encourage you. I have the opportunity to do the same.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTeresa

I had no success with this diet. I kept losing and gaining the same 4 pounds over and over again. The only positive is that people commented on how good my skin looked - this was due to the sugar reduction.
I would certainly be upset if I paid $400. For the combo Atkins/GI diet!!!

I have been on Jorge's diet for eight weeks now.I have lost 14 pds.and 3 inches of belly fat.I feel better than I ever have.More energy and sleep better.I don't follow it as close as I did before, but I try to stay with the 15/120.I just wish I knew about Jorges book earlier.Just have Faith,With God everthing is possible.

I have been on this for one week. I have lost 4 pounds. I love it. I realize it is a way of life and I get it, finally. I had no idea how much sugar I was eating and "treating" myself. I hope not to have the issues others posted about the eating style not working for them. I have high hopes. This is my first step to understanding my food intake and no longer saying, "I don't understand why I'm gaining weight." Love it! Thanks Jorge, I turst your directions.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLindsay

If the diet is not working for you there may be an underlying issue you have not addressed. Could be an underactive thyroid, sluggish liver, insulin resistance, hormone imbalances etc. I got hold of a book called "Nature's Secrets to Weight Control" by Elizabeth Noble which has a chapter by chapter breakdown of why people don't lose weight. I think Jorge's diet is great but you have to make sure
you have not got other issues slowing down your results.

People--THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PLAN!!! THERE IS NO LIMIT TO NON-STARCHY VEGETABLES SO WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL!!! OUR BODIES NEED VERY LITTLE GRAIN AND SOME SHOULD EVEN EAT GRAIN PRODUCTS AT ALL! EGGS DO NOT CAUSE YOUR CHOLESTEROL TO INCREASE!!! THIS IS A LIE THAT HAS BEEN TOLD FOR MANY YEARS!!! SUGAR AND CARBS INCREASE CHOLESTEROL!! HIGH SUGAR DIET = A HIGH FAT (IN YOUR BODY) DIET!!! IF YOU AREN'T SEEING THE WEIGHT COME OFF AS FAST, CUT THE CARBS, NOT THE PROTEIN AND FAT!!!! FAT IS NOT THE ENEMY! EGGS ARE NOT THE ENEMY!!! SUGAR, AND THE SO-CALLED HEALTHY GRAINS AND EVEN FRUIT WILL RAISE YOUR BLOOD SUGAR AND THROW YOUR INSULIN OFF AND THAT IS WHAT DOES IT! NOT FAT, NOT EGGS!!! AND 95% OF THE DOCTORS DO NOT KNOW THIS--THEY JUST GO WITH THE LIE WITHOUT ANY TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE TO BACK THEM UP AND TELL YOU TO CUT FAT AND EGGS!!!! THESE DOCTORS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE ONE NUTRITION CLASS WHILE IN MED SCHOOL!!!! THEY ARE WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!! CUT THE CARBS TO LESS THAN 50 AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, TRY 25 CARB GRAMS AND WATCH YOUR WEIGHT MELT OFF YOUR BODY!!!! THE SUGAR AND THE GRAIN INDUSTRY ARE IN BED WITH THE FDA AND THAT'S WHY THEY PUSH THESE FOODS BUT THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT OUR HEALTH!!! IF YOUR BODY DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH CHOLESTEROL, IT WILL MAKE TOO MUCH OF IT! LOW FAT IS NOT THE ANSWER! WHOLE FOODS, PROTEIN, AND NO SUGAR WITH VERY LITTLE GRAIN AND FRUIT IS THE MOST NATURAL AND BEST WAY TO LOSE AND LIVE!!!! DON'T BE SUCKED INTO THE "FAT FREE" "CHOLESTEROL SCARE" LIES!!!! THE CHOLESTEROL SCARE WAS DESIGNED TO SELL CHOLESTEROL DRUGS AND MORE GRAIN!! WAKE UP!!! DON'T BE FOOLED!!!!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSandy

Like Frances said, if you aren't losing weight as quickly, there may be some other issues going on. Get your blood work done and have them check your thyroid, blood sugar, and even your adrenals, immune system, yeast levels, cortisol levels, and hormones--check for estrogen dominance in women which can also slow weight loss and cause all kinds of problems. And, we have to remember, how long did it take us to mess up our bodies and gain 10, 20, 50, or 100 pounds? Well, we aren't going to become thin over night. Even contestants on the Biggest Loser took several months to lose most of all of their weight and they were working out vigorously (with a $250K carrot dangling in front of their noses) for several hours per day. I have been doing Jorge's program for 3 months now and I have only lost 20 pounds but I feel amazing! I am able to tweak it a bit because I know a lot about nutrition, but I am also working out 30 mins per day/5 days per week. I feel stronger, have more energy, more endurance, great muscle tone. But I also don't have sugar cravings and food does not control me! Thank you Jorge for all your efforts and all that you do for those who need to lose weight and for those that just need to learn to eat healthier and stop eating sugar! I hope you don't mind, Jorge, but there are two really good books out there called, "Sugar Shock" by Connie Bennett and Lick the Sugar Habit by Nancy Appleton. Another great book by Dr. Joseph Mercola is "The No Grain Diet." I would love to see you have one of these people in a video with you!

HI, I have been on this diet for about six weeks and lost 10 pounds. I only have 4 more to goal!!! Please understand that I am/was truly addicted to sugar. I use to go into a "panic" without it. Now, I still am 'cheating' one to two days a week and I still am very pleased. I am discovering that when I do cheat, I do not have the same satisfaction from the sugar I use too. I now get a headache from it. These headaches thrill me for I know it will lead to very little cheating in the future. Jorge has taught me the ill effects sugar has on our cells and I cannot thank him enough! This plan has/is changing my life.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJane

I find all your comments very interesting. I went on this plan with the goal of losing inches around my waist. I did the online 8 weeks and am now doing the menus only 6 weeks. To date I have lost 8 lbs and 2 inches. My belly is shrinking and I do feel better. The most important thing I have learned is how much sugar I was eating, and how bad it was for me. I have been diagnosed with hypo thyroidism, adrenal fatigue and insulin resistance which I am sure plays a part in my lack of weight loss. I am not giving up, but I do feel frustrated. I should have lost a lot of weight by now. I am going to try half of the carbs suggested and see if that yields more results. I am always under every day in the sugars. I am grateful for the videos and articles which have helped me learn about the artificial sugars and how poison sugar is. There seem to be a number of us who are not losing the weight, there has to be a reason!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLynne

15 years ago diagnosed with Diabetes and have never had it controlled, the Dr had me on pills and about 5 years ago I went on insulin and I took myself off the pills, I was spending $6,000 a year on pills because I had lots of side effects from the pills. He keep increasing my insulin 46 slow acting units and 15 fast acting in morning,15 lunch and 15 dinner. I didn't feel well at all and my diabetes was so out of control. The eating plan from the nurse gave me was 10 fruits, 9 starches 6 protein 2 fats, 1 milk in a day. No wonder I was so out of control so many highs and lows throughout the day and into the night. Every meal and snack had 2 fruits and 1+1+ 4 starch at lunch+2+1. I bought BFC 5 weeks ago and started this plan right away. The 1st week lost 4#s 3 ins, then I changed to the classic and gained a couple #s back, changed to the ultimate and now loosing again. I have decreased my insulin to 30 slow units and will continue to decrease as long as my readings are good and either 4 units or none the other 3 times. I don't recommend anyone changing their meds unless they know what they are doing and how they feel. I think being on the insulin stops me from loosing a lot of weight, but I put it on in 15 years, it will take time for it too come off, but it is slowly. For me being in control of my health instead of my disease controlling me is such a good feeling. The friends I've told without being on this plan are all loosing weight just because they say they are watching what and how much they eat. I didn't realize how much sugar I was consuming until I got this book. No wonder I was 58#s over what I should weigh. Finally something I can live with and maybe on the road to being off insulin. I love it. Never feel hungry or missing anything, I make the expresso if I feel like a treat and I never liked coffee with cream and I use stevia or xylosweet. I now drink club soda and found a drink I enjoy Aquafina plus+vitamins 10 cal and mix together if I want some fizz, in Canada no Zevia unless I order online. Glazier vitaminwater is only 4.4 sugar and 4.4 carbs for 500 ml, although the nutrition info was not on bottles, did say it had cane sugar, looked on line for info, not sure of all the difference kinds they have, I know some have lots of sugar. . I've made a point of watching the health food or natural foods and noticed there are some that are high in sugar. Have had to learn to read labels and now I watch for the artifical sweetners. Diabetics are told unlimited diet drinks and artifical sweetners over sugar and so I was drinking lots of diet cokes and found them very hard to get off until I got on this plan. I could not wait to get home at night so I could have a coke and now water satisfies me. I hope everyone continues and when I went on the classic it was way too much food for me and I think that is the reason I gain for that week. I am back on track and more than enough food on this plan. We are worth it and to be healthy is the only way to live.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLaurel

I know we are not supposed to have artificial sweeteners... but what about Stevia?

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCheri

Hi Everyone, I'm a firm believer that what ever works for you, as long as it is healthy, do it! The BFC is working for me. I've been on Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and many other fad diets and have never had these results and feel as good as I do. I've been on the diet for 30 days today and I have lost 15.8 lbs. and 2 inches from my waist. I have more energy then I ever. This past week I have only lost 8 oz. but I'm still motivated to do better next week. My goal is 55lbs. so I guess I'm off to a good start. Thank you Jorge for creating a plan that works for me!

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJenny G.

Cheri--Stevia is not an artificial sweetener. It is great and is allowed on the BFC.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSandy

Cheri, to add to the above, Stevia is a natural herbal supplement and used as a sweetener. There is powder, liquid, a french vanilla liquid and stevia balance which is good for blood glucose levels has added chomium and inulin to support the blood glucose activity. Although they say it is 2X sweeter than sugar, I use the same amount for my tea and find it okay. At first I didn't really like the taste, but like it now that I am use to it. You can get it at Health Food stores and I did find it at Superstore in Edmonton, AB Canada. Likely at WalMart, but not sure. I'm still in the process of finding products and food that I can now enjoy guilt free.

March 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLaurel

I did see on the website, and not in the book, something about "if you have 30+ lbs to lose you should lose 4-9 lbs a week". That tells me this works best for those with more weight to lose, which seems to be the case with most programs. I have 15 lbs (very stubborn lbs) max to lose and the first week of following the plan (buying the necessary products to do so) yielded only .5 lb loss. I am doing yoga daily, running 2-3 miles every other day and the alternate days lifting weights.

I haven't lost any waist inches, but feel less fleshy around my hips. My energy is great, not tired mid/late afternoon like usual and waking up w/o an alarm, so all in all I am happy with the way I feel and am trying to be patient.

One thing, I know Jorgre says it is not a diet, but anytime you feel like you cannot have something you want - a piece of cake, cookie etc you are on a diet. Tomorrow I am going to a dinner that I had to put together and I know the only thing I will be able to eat is the Ceasar salad and a glass of white wine - not too healthy. I will have to sneak in some turkey deli meat or something. Maybe after a while I can afford a moderate cheat meal when out and about!

Keep on improving your health, in what every way you can, it can only do you good!

I have been following the belly fat cure for 8 weeks and have lost 11 pounds. I have 9 more to go to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. It hasn't been coming off fast but it has worked better than anything else that I have tried. I also keep a food log on www.mydailyplate.com. This really helps tremendously. Also, I would encourage people to make sure that you are eating enough fiber and drinking enough water or else it is very hard to drop the pounds. Keep up the good work everyone! And thank you, Jorge.

I have been on the BFC diet since Jan.17/10. I am now down 22 lb. and 9" off my waist. I am pleased. There have been alot of upset people. Not sure what is happening for those people. But I can honestly say that I have never lost weight as easy as this. I am 59 and will be 60yr in the next couple of weeks. I am hoping to have 25 lb. off for my BD. I then still have 40 lb. to go. I purchased Jorge's $97.00 Six week of menus. Well, I found that after doing 2 weeks of the menus I was not loosing as well as on my own, so I am back to doing this my way. But I do think the menus are great, so I will keep them for the future. They give me lots of ideas and so I think they will really come in handy. I have been keeping my sugars below 10 and trying to keep my carbs at 3. I work at this by planning my menus but there are some days where I have gone way over. But on the average day I keep them both low. I am never hungry and I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks daily, Sometimes I even eat more snacks than called for. I have never been a choc. lover but I have really found that Lindt 90% chocolate has been a big treat for me, the sugars are low and there are no carbs. I have not started exercising as yet, I think that part of my life is coming, but I am hoping to get another 10-20 lb. off first. Thanks Jorge for changing my life with all your information. I never new how serious sugar was damaging my body. It really makes me cringe because there are so many candy adverts on tv. It is almost like sugar is one of the food groups. Thanks for opening my eyes. Keep up the good work and thanks so much for the videos.

I started eating according to Jorge's book "The Belly Fat Cure" which I purchased at Costco. This book was written up in the Costco Connection magazine. I started following Jorge's guidelines in the middle of February. I am 53 years old and in the last year I had gained 12 extra pounds.
In the last 6 weeks, I have lost one pound a week. My husband has lost 10 pounds. This plan has been an educational walk for me and a healthy lifestyle change. I never have been a juice, milk, or soda drinker so water, tea and coffee are fine. The biggest change was no raw sugar in my morning coffee! Pruvia and sometimes a sprinkle of raw sugar as a treat is working well! Oh.....I have not had anymore heartburn or acid indigestion!!!! My family is not following the plan really, it's just that they are benefiting from the whole grain breads and wonderful healthy dinners I have been preparing. My husband has been cutting way back on his sugar intake just because he sees the results I am getting. One note I wanted to say....proportion sizes are important and the recipes for dinners seem to be for 4 so I watch how large the servings are as well. It took me a week to get used to eating more often but now I always carry a cheese stick or nuts with me. Thanks for this forum!

Frustrated with my increasing weight gain, I decided to give this diet a try. Using only the book and concentrating on reducing sugar intake, I have seen good results. Beginning about the middle of Jan, '10, I have lost 31 lbs. My goal is 80 lbs total, so I have a ways to go, but I have noticed other changes besides weight loss. I do have more energy, am more relaxed and I have even quit snoring. I have also dropped two (pants) sizes. I did go through a period of about 2 weeks when nothing seemed to be happening. At that time, I realized that I had been drinking a lot of sodas with aspertame. When I reduced my intake, I began to lose again. I can't say that I have been following the menus in the book, but rather try to observe the limit of 15 gms of sugar a day and drink water. It has not seemed like a diet, since I eat pretty much the foods I like. I also plan to add some exercise to the program soon. My friends are getting a little tired of me always looking at sugar content, but I have a good feel for things now. When I reach my goal I also feel I have found a lifestyle change that I can live with and that will help me to maintain the good results. I am 64.

I am doing the Over 40 challenge right now and am not losing the weight like I was, but it doesn't matter anymore as this has become a lifestyle change for me and I know the weight will come off in time. At first I was looking for results on a weekly basis (I started on 1/22), but then when I decided that I didn't want sugar to control my life and how I felt so much better without it I didn't care anymore how long it was going to take to see the end results. Just an FYI-I have lost 4 inches in my belly and 12 pounds so far and gone down 3 pant sizes and I still want to lose about 20 pounds, but it will happen when it happens!! What a relief to feel so relaxed about my weight loss instead of stressed out looking at the scale waiting for something to happen!! I feel that I will be successful as a result too, because I am not making myself crazy about it either. So relax and embrace your new lifestyle and enjoy not being hungry for a change and know that you are making your body healthy in the process. Good luck all!!

I have been following the bfc since 2/15/10 and have lost 13 lbs. I thought that I only had to lose 10 but it didn't all exit from my belly, hence the additional weight loss. I don't know what my end weight loss will be and I am still following the bfc as I feel it has given me greater energy and better sleep than I have had in years. I am not really looking to lose any more weight at this point. My question is I started running about six weeks ago and am now running for thirty to forty-five minutes five days a week and don't feel like the 15/6 sugar and carbs is good enough to sustain my runs. Has anyone that is exercising regularly stayed true to the 15/6 or are you modifying in any way? Other than that I think this is an excellent plan and does work.

I agree with DSL. I paid out big money fro this plan, didn't lose weight, didn't get responses when I asked for my money back. I felt like I was only promoting Jorge's book. No sugar is great but the rest of it is baloney!!

Greetings! I have lost 41 pounds on Belly Fat Cure since January 1 and I have now transitioned to another diet way of eating for the long term which is basically a FLEXITARIAN diet. I think BFC is a great diet but I have endometriosis and I needed more fiber in my diet as a way of controlling "flare ups". That being said, the BFC taught me how to get off of sugar and not be a "slave" to refined carbs.

I think this diet has many benefits and it really started me on the road to better health.

Thanks Jorge!
