For anybody who needs a little help

I have received many questions lately that address the need for motivation. My good friend Tony Robbins is an expert in that field, and tomorrow night he talks to Frank and Kristen Alioto whose dream of a destination wedding in lovely Puerto Vallarta, Mexico turned into a nightmare that same evening. Just hours after the ceremony, Frank jumped into the pool, broke his neck and became a quadriplegic. Tony illustrates how you can not only live after a tragedy like that but thrive in life! Very powerful episode.

If you need or would like an extra boost of motivation, watch this first episode. The show is Breakthrough and it airs Tuesdays at 8/7 PM CST on NBC starting July 27th.

Jorge... I started this diet because of surgery that I had on my foot. I finished my P90Masters program and the next week I started the diet... since my surgery I have NOT been able to workout, but because of this amazing diet I have lost 1 inch around my waist... after the doctor removes the pin in my toe I will weigh myself. I know the first week of the diet before the surgery I had lost 7 lbs. Thanks for the great book!

Jorge,
I was needing to lose some weight and inches around my stomach. I went on your program" Belly Fat Cure" and after 3 weeks I had lost 5 inches in my stomach and 15 lbs in weight. The key was staying discipline and doing exactly what you suggested. Thanks as I feel 200% better not carrying around the extra weight.

Thanks. I love Tony Robbins.
He is very inspiniring and Very Enthusiastic.

I was loving the belly fat cure - looking good and feeling great. But now that I'm pregnant - how can I continue to eat healthy when my doctor is telling me that I have to include certain foods that the belly fat plan doesn't allow? (i.e. milk, fruit, etc). Any help would be sooooo helpful!

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSweetpea

Is anybody else having problems with constant diarrhea?
I've lost over 15 lbs but it makes me feel bloated.

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLindaM

I was wondering, I have been on the plan for about 4 weeks and I have lost about 5 lbs, I need to lose about 25 to get to a health weight and I don't seem to be losing. I have hit a plateau maybe. What do I do? I have been very good about sticking to the plan. Anyone have any Ideas?

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTina

To Linda, I found that I can not eat sugar-free foods because it gives me gas and I feel bloated. Check to see if what you are eating has maltilol or xylitol. I can eat 1 thing a day that has maltilol in it without feeling miserable all day.

Started the belly fat cure and lost 4lbs in two days! Understanding the terrible effects of sugar made me understand what killed my mom. Her mother and one of her sisters (still alive) made it to 101, the other sisters amd most of the brothers made it well into theri 90s, my mom ( the yourngest) died at 70. She loved lots of sugar in her iced tea that she drank a lot of it everyday as well as lots and lots of goodies. As I began to gain weight I was puzzled as I reallly don't eat very much at all and what I do eat is overall very nutritious but I do have a sweet tooth and as soon as I cut out the sugar I was amazaed at how the pounds seemed to just melt away. Needless to say my sugar intake has come to an abrupt halt! I had no idea how much was in everthing including fruit that I love and thought was super good for you (which I still think it is except for the sugar part) now it will be more of an occationaly treat though.

P.S. Tony Robbins changed my life forever. I've accomplished a lot of amazing things since reading his book "Awaken the Giant Within". Highly recommended it to anyone trying to make their life better!!

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSharla

@Linda M. Some people do experience digestive issues with the sugar alcohols (xylitol, malitol etc.) Cutting back on amounts is recommended. Do some research about it. I got this information from an article written by Dr. Christiane Northrup (who endorses "The Belly Fat Cure"). I also found the warning on a package of xylitol.

This email is great. I have a heads up for Tony's TV show tonight. I need the extra incouragement.
Thank you.

Jorge, your book & videos started me on a new way of life. I began in January and have lost close to 10 pounds of belly fat. I was not overweight, but it turns out that the belly fat was due to a pre-diabetes condition. That was all the info I needed to keep me on my high protein, high fat, very low carb regimen. I feel great and I am much stronger. Thank you for the push I needed!

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSusan

Thanks Jorge !! I've been on the plan since I pre ordered your book and it has changed my life. Before I knew about the dangers of sugar I thought I was eating right, but didn't realize the calories and sugar I was drinking. I consumed almost 2 qts of OJ a day in addition to milk and other fruit juices. My switch to almond milk and water with a dash of lime juice and a packet of stevia has helped me to drop 45 lbs and still losing. I was in a pre-diabetic condition before starting the plan and diets never worked. Now I'm still losing the weight and have an easy approach that I can stick to for life. Even if I slip up now I don't beat myself up and binge, I resume my new routine and the weight's still dropping off.

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTim B

Try Truvia sweetner, it's all natural. They carry it now at regular grocery stores not just at Whole Foods. It does taste a little weird at first but you get used to it. After using it for about a week or two, I gave it up completely in my coffee! Now my coffee is sugar and milk free! Thanks Jorge!
I still get a sweet tooth every now and then and I do breakdown and have a an actual cookie, but once a week isn't bad right? I've lost 6 lbs. and a few inches from my waist. Still working at it.

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterKristin

One of the most positive things about your program is that you are truly concerned about others results. I enjoy the emails you send and the videos as well. Will check out Tony Robbins. I have lost 5 pounds and feel great. I really didn't have much to lose, but the fact that my stomach is flatter is amazing and it was all due to sugar and high carbs. Keep inspiring us!

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSusan Williams

I found the xylitol in packets at Sprouts in Arizona. And....they also carry Clemmy's ice cream! Yum!

July 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJoye

@Tina - I hit a plateau for about 5 weeks and did some cardio (elliptical trainer - medium resistance) a few times a week and I finally broke the plateau. I get frustrated reading about people losing large amounts of weight in such a short amount of time and I was losing at a snails pace and then a plateau so early and for so long!

Good luck.

I absolutely love the Belly Fat Cure.. It has not only enabled me in losing weight but, changed my eating lifestyle. After starting to read labels and look at the sugar/ carb count rather than calories... I've realized how much sugar so many things have. I now drink the 40 calorie almond milk. I LOVE it. Never thought I would like it but, was amazed because it's good. Also switched my sugar to Stevia. I've also tried the Xylitol and the Truvia. Anyways, Thank you Jorge. Excellent job. Keep up the good work.

Jorge, just wanted to let you know I started the Belly Fat Cure Diet October 18, 2009.....and as of today, I have lost 60 pounds and feel terrific.
It has been so wonderful and the lifestyle change in my eating has really worked for me. I gave up all artificial sweeteners and all diet drinks and all alcohol. I just watch my sugars and carbs. That's it!!! It's been a long time since I have felt this good.
Thank you Jorge for all the motivation!!!!

I lost 10 lbs the first week but have only lost one pound the two weeks afterward. It has been slow but I realize that for me I need to excercise so I am starting an excercise plan on August 1st.
I do have to say that I will not give up even though the scale has not been changing much because I have felt great! I have more energy, no acid reflux, no pain in my intestinal area, my appetite is less (thanks to Leptin increase!) and I have started talking to people about the affects of sugar on the body and a few have also purchased the book. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED! Small changes for you can bring HUGE results. God Bless

@SHARON YOU CAN FIND xylitol-sugar subsitute ONLY ONLINE, THAT WAS THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND IT. I FOUND IT AT JOESPHS.COM. I ALSO FOUND OTHER GREAT TREATS THROUGH THAT COMPANY TO HELP WITH THE SWEET TOOTH. LOL. HOPE THAT HELPS.

Thank you so much for drawing my attention to the damage I've been doing to myself with sugar and carbs - I just didn't know how much sugar is in EVERYTING. I started the Belly Fat Cure a month ago and have lost 12 lbs. and 4". My problem is I don't want to lose any more weight but I still need a few inches off my waist and it isn't happening, My weight keeps dropping and nothing off my waist. What can I do?

Hi,

I just joined the group and plan on beginning BFC on Monday 8/9, using the weekend to gear up. I currently have on hand a cake batter flavored whey protein powder with amino acids, made by Muscle Gauge Nutrition which I believe would be fine to use with BFC. Its nutritional values are 111 calories per 1 oz scoop with 2 grams fat, 2 grams carbs, 22 grams protein, 0 fiber. Ingredients: Pure whey protein concentrate, pure whey protein isolate, natural and artificial flavor, xanthan gum, sweetened with stevia. This protein is available in 5 lb. tubs for about $30, which makes it a heck of a lot more affordable than Jay Robb products. Ingredients comparison is the same other than artificial flavor is added to Muscle Gauge. I think the taste is fine and it mixes well without any cloying thickness or clumps. Given the ingredients, would this whey work with BFC?

Just started a loose version of this diet on Thurs. I was so excited about it that I didn't wait for my traditonal Monday start date. I have to admit I have not followed it perfectly, but pretty close. I will officially start Monday. (Old habbits die hard). I have not lost any lbs. yet, but I notice my clothes feel a little different. I am desperately hoping that this diet will work for me. I will give it all I got, and see what happens. Wish me luck!

August 8, 2010 | Unregistered Commentercjazzyree

I've been on the bfc for 7 days and yesterday was the most difficult!! I was desperately craving sugar and it was soooo hard to resist. I had one small bite of a cantaloupe and thought I would die it tasted so good. I ended up eating one of those no-sugar "think thin" bars which helped, but it was a tough day. I'm not sure what the next step is for week two. I hope I really do get an email as mentioned when I joined up to tell me how to proceed!! Any suggestions for the sweet-tooth?

August 29, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJenny

3fatchicks.com has low carb dessert recipes, just make sure to use an acceptable BFC sweetener and count carbs and sugars.

Sobe Lifewater ice pops are an easy treat.

I stuck @ a plateau on my weight. How do I break this and continue to loss additional weight?

September 6, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterBev Hastings

I just bought the book and lost 6 pounds in one week! So stoked! I do carry my weight around my belly, but my daughter is 20 and has a very small waist. She tends to carry her weight in her butt and thighs. Will she be able to loose weight in those areas on this diet?

September 10, 2010 | Unregistered Commentermarodrigues921@yahoo.com

Okay so I just bought the book yesterday and my brother and I are going to try it for a week. My question is where do I buy Almond Milk and the Zevia sodas? Thanks

September 24, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterM.I.A

Jorge,
I am starting the belly loss program tomorrow and I'm very excited!! Am I correct in thinking that as long as I stay in the 15/6 ratio I will lose weight. I am asking because some of the items that are listed in the book (ex-Clemmys Ice cream) can't be found in my area. Are the products you suggest the only ones I should eat? Also, do I have to follow those weekly menus or can i just count my own 15/6?

can you eat the foods that have no value 0/0 as wanted?

Hi Jorge,
I just got your book and I am taking the time to review prior to starting but i am already thinking in the s/c mode. My question is: in your book there are a few menus am I allowed to mix this menus or do i pick one only?
Thanks!!!

I just got your book "The Belly Fat Cure" and find that it makes so much sense. I will be starting the diet this week and will keep you posted. I do have some questions however. I live in Canada and many products you rave about are not easy to come by and I don't want to spend a fortune. For example could someone tell me what's in clemmys icecream so that I can do a comparison at the grocery store??? I have about 50 pounds to lose and can't wait to get started but like I said being in canada and not finding the right products may be a problem for me. Can anyone give me advice for shopping and what I can look for in Canada??
Thanks in advance...I am truly hoping this diet will change my life....

I thought I was looking at a picture of my husband when I saw Ken on page 37! Now my husband is on the BFC with me preparing all his meals! He has lost 7lbs! My question....how often do u use the BFC drink? Is it safe for me to give it to him on a work day? Are you in the bathroom a lot? DiDi

I started this diet this week then had to go in for a surgery yesterday, which stinks, sionce it means i can not work out for the next 7-9 days and maybe longer if they didn't get everything ugh! I am craving sugar like a mad woman and i don't think PMS helps! I have always limited my sugar to eating nothing with more then 10 grams of sugar since thats what the dietician told me i should do and now im down to 15 grams a day. I am having a hard time with it basically more so because my boyfriend who has no issues with weight gain eats nothing but crappy food and the damn cookies are screaming my name. PLease someone motivate me! My boyfriend feels that it shouldn't matter what we eat because we will eventually die anyway so enjoy your food. Ugh i need some outside help!

Hi Jorge!

I have been on this diet for about a week but have become so bloated that I am uncomfortable.
Prior to starting this way of eating, I ate such a large amount of fiber - oats, stone ground whole wheat flour, sweet potatoes, manioc - that this diet is actually a step down from that. I was however having way too much sugar mainly from fruit and hidden sourcesof which I was not aware and was not eating so much protein. I am losing weight with the FBC but am too uncomfortable right now. Additionally for the first time in years I am constipated! Previous to this I would have two to three bowel movements a day. On two occasions this week I had none. What's wrong!
I want to continue eating this way to reduce the belly fat but need some advice. Thank you.

July 2, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSophie

I am desperate to find out serving amounts. How many sausages? How many slices of bacon. All I have is the fast track menu and the only serving size I have seen so far is for the chocolate treat or 2 eggs. I know I eat one pork chop as a woman (that's all I've ever eaten). How do I know how much is enough, is too much, is not enough? I drink my coffee black. Do I need to add the cream? Yuk! I never used to eat breakfast. Then I moved to raisin bran every day with 1% milk (1/2 cup cereal). The idea of eating this much breakfast gags me.
What is the name of the original diet - before Fast Track. Once I get to the 14 days, I will probably want to change to it. I stumbled on this book in Costco.
