Motivation needs to be nurtured on a regular basis. If you are struggling with motivation this weekend know that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Taking a selfie is a spark to help motivate you if you are overweight and need a reason to start working harder or if you are a good weight and want a reason to keep going. I always say that the mirror sees what the scale cannot.
Khloe Kardashian and other celebrities in LA are big proponents to taking selfies and not to be vain, but to hold yourself accountable. I take part in selfies daily to remind myself why I work as hard as I do.
You ideally want to wear something form fitting, something that shows your body, curves and all. It’s scientifically proven that to see your body will motivate you more.
You have to find the silver lining, if you’re not at your goal by looking at the picture, it will move you to want to get in shape more.
What you don’t want to do is use the selfie and think that you look better and then go pig out at The Cheesecake Factory. Stay on target with your goals and use the selfies to help you reach them, not hold you back.
If you have a great selfie you should share it with your close friends and family so that they see how far you are coming. We need to see positive images of ourselves being healthy!
Try doing this this Sunday so that you have a good start to your week and know where you are and where you want to be. Use the selfie to move you forward. You only need to do it once a week as a bit of extra motivation.
One other bonus thing I tell my clients is to use a scale, after you go to the bathroom, take a picture of your toes so that you can see where you’re at and this is something that should be done daily. You can them compare your weight photos with your selfies for the ultimate motivation.
